A little space to simply receive.

So much of life asks us to do something. Solve the problem. Make the decision. Figure out what comes next.

Reiki offers something different: an opportunity to pause, soften, and notice what's happening within you.

You don't need to know anything about energy work or even be sure what you believe about Reiki. You're allowed to simply be curious.

So . . . what exactly is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese energy-based practice centered around relaxation, intentionality, and well-being.

Rather than asking you to talk, analyze, or figure something out, Reiki invites you to slow down and notice. You might become aware of your breathing, tension, warmth or tingling, an emotion that surfaces, or simply a sense of relaxation.

You may also notice very little, and that’s okay. There isn’t a “right” way to experience Reiki.

Think of it less as something you have to understand “perfectly” and more as an invitation to pause.

What does the body have to do with it?

We spend a lot of time living from the neck up: thinking, planning, worrying, analyzing, and moving on to whatever comes next.

Reiki offers an opportunity to bring some of that attention back to the body. You may notice your breathing, areas of tension, physical sensations, emotions, or simply what it feels like to be still for a moment.

This overlaps with something many body-based, or somatic, practices recognize: we experience life through our bodies, too.

Reiki isn’t a replacement for therapy or medical care. I think of it as another gentle way to create space to slow down, notice, and reconnect with yourself.

And what about chakras?

You may hear the word chakra come up in Reiki and other energy-based practices. Chakras are traditionally understood as energy centers associated with different areas of the body and aspects of our experience.

I like to think of them as another framework for checking in with yourself: a way to get curious about what might need a little more attention.

Wait... Reiki can be done from a distance?

Yes. In Reiki practice, distance Reiki is based on the belief that the practitioner and recipient don’t need to be physically together for the practice to take place.

At your scheduled time, I facilitate Reiki remotely while you settle somewhere comfortable. You might choose to rest, listen to music, journal, meditate, or simply give yourself permission to pause.

There’s nothing special you need to do. Just create whatever little bit of space you can.

What might it feel like?

Everyone’s experience is different. Some people describe deep relaxation, warmth, tingling, emotional awareness, imagery, or a sense of calm. You may also notice very little, and your experience may change from one session to another.

The purpose isn’t to chase a particular sensation. Reiki offers intentional time to slow down, receive, and reconnect with yourself.

Sometimes the most meaningful part is simply giving yourself that space and noticing what unfolds.

A note about energy exchange.

In Reiki traditions, you may hear the phrase energy exchange. To me, it’s a reminder that giving and receiving can exist in balance.

Within my practice, payment honors the time, intention, preparation, and energy I bring to the experience while allowing me to continue offering this work.

I intentionally keep my Reiki offerings accessible because I believe meaningful moments of rest, reflection, and connection don’t have to be extravagant.

Reiki you can hold.

Reiki doesn’t always have to exist within a session. I also bring together Reiki, creativity, and intention through original art.

Each piece is created intentionally and infused with Reiki, offering something tangible you can keep, display, or return to as a reminder of the intention it holds.

Have something meaningful in mind?

I welcome commissions. Share an intention, feeling, colors, imagery, or meaning you’d like the piece to hold, and we’ll explore what might take shape.
